Trend Alert: Monochromatic look

In keeping up with all things trendy, I simply could not resist posting about the Post Winter / Spring Trend emerging...the monochromatic look. Some say it is a welcomed relief from the colour blocking trend which wasn't for the faint-hearted. So if you are looking to move away from rainbow-inspired movement and are interested in something new, a single colour palette is low maintenance and quite easy to do as some celebs have shown.

If you aren't too keen on going all monochromatic from head to toe, add a splash of colour with your accesories. Accesorising with bold colours such as bright pink, neon green or metallic accents will really give your look that extra pop and show how fashion forward you really are.

Style Crush

I totally have a style crush on Chanel Iman, she has been on my radar for quite some time. Her style is quirky, feminine and ultra sexy. Her long lean frame allows her to wear garments effortlessly. Staple pieces in her style arsenal are lace, leather and a bold red lip. She is not afraid to wear bold prints and loves styling monochromatic black or white

Must haves...

Even though we are nearing the month of March and Summer is still very much in our midst, Winter trends are making their appearance in most stores. As observed by our Northern Hemisphere counterparts, who I am sure cannot wait to shake Winter off, quite a number of trends were super popular in 2012.

As with most Winter trends, leather is always right up there on the list of must-haves, leather jackets being a staple wardrobe item. This Winter leather makes it's way into virtually any item of clothing you can think of.

From shirts and tops...






To pants and skirts...







The other bold trend this Winter is oxblood, morbid choice of name, but uber cool and chic for those cold, gray Winter days. Offset oxblood with bold red or black for a great look day or night.









 Have fun trying out all the super cute items as the Winter chill creeps into the country.

Lovables for the day

I am a self-confessed shoe lover. In fact I can boldly say that my love for footwear may just well  bankrupt me one day. Being an entry-level member of the work-force may mean I don't have a whole lot in terms of income to splurge on expensive shoes, however, this minor detail somehow has not seemed to stop me from jumping on all the latest trends in footwear.

My big love at the moment has got to be Wedge Sneaker Heels, I just cannot get enough! Isabel Marant's designs are absolutely amazing and celebs are just as crazy about wedge sneakers as I am.

 

There are some adorable variations for us regular folks who can't afford a pair of Isabel Marant's so that we don't get struck with a serious case of FOMO.
