Recreate That Look

I found this great look worn by Cassie. It caught my eye purely because it has so many of my favourite things at the moment, white denim, leather, gold accessories and of course bright pink lipstick #LOVE! How could I not fall in love right?

 

I think she looks so chic and edgy, perhaps its the hair or the leather, either way its a sure-fire win in my eyes. I'm definitely going to try this look out.

Spotted: Charles and Keith

I think I may be a tad late on joining in on this bandwagon but a friend of mine introduced me to this amazing shoe line range that has literally been on my doorstep all this time. Charles & Keith have the coolest designs in footwear and handbags. If you already knew this I plead with you to please forgive me and overlook my ignorance, I promise I won't even try to ride on the coat-tails of my money woes!

 

Charles & Keith is a ladies footwear and accessories brand founded in 1996 by brothers Charles and Keith Wong. The Brand produces 750 footwear and 300 bags and accessories design annually to meet the fast demand of fashion consumers. They have stores in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa YAY!

 

Anywhoo I am pretty sure you all know how to Wikipedia stuff so let me not bore you with facts but rather show you some of the cool spreads and fashion they have on offer.

 

 

 

My only gripe is that I wish they would design clothes too because they style these models to perfection, not only do I want the bags and shoes, I want the clothes too.

 

 

They have stores at the Blue Route Mall and Canal Walk in Cape Town and The Glen Mall Centre and East Rand Mall in Johannesburg.

 

If you aren't in any of those cities or they do not have a store in your area, make use of their online shopping facility on the main website. They are currently having a sale on Winter items... go get 'em.

New: One Item, Three Different Looks

Hi Everybody

 

I am adding a new feature on the blog this week, called One Item, Three Different Looks. Basically I will pick one statement item of clothing, be it a jacket, a pair of jeans or a pair of heels and I will style it in three different ways to create three different looks. I am on a role with new features this week, my creativity is on a redbull high I guess.

 

Let's get it in...

 





For a super feminine look, I paired this polka dot skirt with pastel pink and white and accessorised with gold chunky jewellery to give it an edgy pop.





 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The second look has more of a punk rock feel to it and requires a little more attitude, especially if you are going to go with such a bright shade of lipstick.

 

 

 

The last look is more vava voom, with a cropped midriff bearing top to showcase the curves, add a pop of colour... well more like a blast of colour with a neon coloured clutch and a bright lipstick. You are sure to get a few hearts racing with this number!

Hope you all had an awesome weekend. So I went a little crazy with Polyvore this weekend, it is so much fun creating outfits and collections although I am quite concerned what my Internet bill is going to look like at the end of this month!

 

I have decided to add a new feature to The Black Diamond Series titled Recreate That Look. I love following celebs and their style and I think it is fun to recreate and be inspired by some of their looks, on a much more budget friendly scale of course.

 

 

My celeb inspired look for today is this look Rihanna rocked while out and about with gal-pal Melissa Forde. I think I am gravitating towards a slight obsession with this Bajan girl.

Alright, I will admit it, I have always had a slight obsession with her, there is so much here to obsess over!

One of this seasons must haves is chunky knitwear, worn with simple black skinny jeans and heels or boots of your choice. I love they silhouette created when you pair a chunky sweater with skinny jeans and patent leather pointy pumps. A red lip sets off the sombre black and grey pairing to add a pop of colour.

Stand out in Monochrome

So the big Winter chill is finally here, I was feeling inspired and I thought I would put together a simple monochrome look with some gold accessories so that we don't all run to our favourite bulky coat now that the sun is away.

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off this week with so many incredible red carpet moments. I don't know if I am the only one, but I am never too bothered about the films and the awards, I am all about the red carpet... sorry thespians and movie peeps.

Post Break-up Style

There is nothing like going through a difficult, messy break-up and it is probably a thousand times worse when you have to do it in the public eye. It's hard enough trying to deal with your post break-up meltdown, after one too many glasses of red wine, in front of friends and family but to have to do it with the whole world watching is literally chronic migraine inducing.

One lady currently dealing with the tragic end of a tumultuous relationship, has been doing what any normal woman would do, stepping out dressed to kill. Rihanna has been spotted looking incredible after her recent, ugly break-up with Chris Brown. Let me be the first to say that their break-up was music to my ears. I think these two former lovebirds are way too toxic for each other and its better they called it quits now before we had to wake up to another messy domestic violence incident.    

She is clearly sending out a message to her estranged ex, reminding him just what he is missing out on. Cheer up Rih, there are plenty of eligible bachelors ready to sweep you off your feet. Until then BFF Melissa Forde, a World Tour and millions of devoted fans lapping up your style will keep the loneliness at bay.
