Fresh off the runway: Fabric Blocking

In keeping up with all things fresh and exciting internationally, many Fall / Winter collections 2013 showcased a pretty interesting trend, Fabric Blocking. Fabric blocking is fashion’s answer to colour blocking. I don’t know about you but I personally wish colour blocking would just go away, it was overdone ad nauseum and I will admit, I was probably one of the biggest perpetrators! Fabric blocking is the mix of several different forms of fabrics in one outfit, similar to colour blocking.

A lot of the designers made use of interesting silhouettes and unorthodox fabric combinations such as leather and velvet, to mohair and tweed combinations.

Celebrities are not getting left behind this trend but showcasing it in a more subtle way than what was seen on the runways...
